A plasma display panel and method for manufacturing the same to improve contrast are provided to enhance the contrast of the panel by forming the thin silver sulfide film between the substrate and electromagnetic shielding layer. The sustain electrode pair are formed on the front substrate(170) in a specific direction. The sustain electrode pair is comprised of a pair of transparent electrodes(180a, 180b) and bus electrode. The dielectric(190) and protective film(195) cover the sustain electrode pair and is formed in the front side of the front substrate. The front substrate is formed by the milling of the glass and cleaning process. The black film(185) is formed on the bus electrode. The black film comprises Ag2O2. The black film is formed in order to improve the contrast of the panel. |
