Device for non-destructive materials testing of a test specimen with ultrasonic waves

The device has a probe for transmitting ultrasonic waves and detecting the ultrasonic waves that are reflected from a test specimen. The probe is attached to a movable slide (14). An elongate rail guiding the slide is aligned to a structure of a surface of the test specimen, where the slide is movable along the rail. The rail is manufactured from an epoxy resin. The test specimen is tested by impinging the test specimen with the ultrasonic waves and detecting the ultrasonic waves reflected within the test specimen. The rail is produced by a stereo-lithography method.
