A solar cell and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent the degradation of the solar battery by using the metal silicide layer instead of the transparent electrode layer. The first electrode layer is formed on the substrate(100). The first amorphous silicon layer is formed on the first electrode layer. The first electrode layer is exposed by etching the first-third crystalline silicon layer to form the first contact hole(160). The third crystalline silicon layer is exposed by etching the mask layer(170) to form the second contact hole(180). The first-third amorphous silicon layer is crystallized to form the first-third crystalline silicon layer. The first-third crystalline silicon layer is etched to form a plurality of unit cells.
