The method involves forming a rivet head at a rivet pin (20) by applying and tracking a processing element i.e. heatable calotte or sonotrode. The processing element is taken off afterwards from the formed rivet head. A spreading effect directed from inside outwardly is carried out with tracking of processing element over a tap that occurs into a cavity of the rivet pin. The rivet pin is flanged for the formation of the rivet head in a doughy condition. The rivet pin is heated by the processing element. An independent claim is also included for an articles connecting device comprising a plasticizing hollow cylindrical rivet pin. |
