METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING IPTV SERVICE THROUGH VIEWER IDENTIFICATION AND AUTHENTICATION USING RFID TAG AND DATA

A method and a system for providing an IPTV service through viewer authentication using RFID tag data are provided to use an RFID tag, thereby enabling a user to receive an IPTV service all the time. A reader(140) reads tag data from an RFID tag(130). A set top box(150) transmits the tag data to a server(120) connected to a network. An IPTV service is provided based on a user file that the set top box receives from the server through a terminal according as authentication of the server is successful about the tag data. If the tag data read from the RFID tag is received from the set top box, the server extracts a user file corresponding to the tag data from a database. The extracted file is transmitted to the set top box.
