The invention relates to a suspension device (1) for attachment to a support (6) and comprises a body (2) having two spaced plate-like side members (3) connected together, means at one end of the body enabling a suspension means (8) to be attached, at least one hook (12) at the opposite end of the body integral with at least one of the side members curving towards the other side member, the spacing of the free end of the at least one hook from the opposite respective side member being such as to embrace the support to which the device is to be applied, at least one lever (15) pivoted on a respective at least one pivot (16) between the side members, and each lever having an (upper) arm (18) to one side of the pivot with a cam face (19) directed towards the at least one hook, and a (lower) arm (20) projecting to the opposite side of the pivot away from the pivot centre and a means (21) to urge the cam face (19) on the lever arm (18) towards the hook. |
