A manufacturing method of a paper surface sizing agent suing gelidium jelly extracted from rhodophyta is provided to improve printability improvement and opacity, and to increase surface strength of the paper. A manufacturing method of a paper surface sizing agent suing gelidium jelly extracted from rhodophyta includes the following steps of: extracting the gelidium jelly through an inorganic acid from the rhodophyta; removing inorganic materials from the liquid gelidium jelly; adjusting viscosity and bleaching the liquid gelidium jelly using the liquid gelidium jelly; adding a chemical agent giving functionality as the surface sizing agent; producing powder by drying the processed gelidium jelly; and producing the powder to a liquid type.
