A composition for preventing and treating diseases mediated by the overexpression of HSP27, which contains Tripterygium regelii or active compound isolated from the Tripterygium regelii is provided to prevent and treat diseases without side effect using save plant ingredient. A composition for preventing and treating diseases mediated by the overexpression of HSP27 (Heat shock protein 27) comprises Tripterygium regelii as an active ingredient. The composition comprises a one compound selected among the compounds of the chemical formulas 1 to 5 or pharmaceutically acceptable salt as active ingredient. The compounds of the chemical formulas 1 to 5 is isolated from the Tripterygium regelii.
