METHOD OF SEARCHING WIRELESS LAN ACCESS POINT IN MULTIMODE TERMINAL, MULTIMODE TERMINAL AND ACCESS POINT INFORMATION SERVER USING THE SAME

A method for searching a wireless LAN access point of a multimode terminal, the multimode terminal using the same and an access point information server are provided to reduce the current consumption of the multimode terminal by grasping a searchable access point and available channel information of the access point in advance through the current location of the multimode terminal. A point in which a multimode terminal is currently located is grasped(S210). A multimode terminal transmits information including the grasped point to an access point information server through a communication mode, not a wireless LAN(S220). The multimode terminal receives access point information including available channel information of the access point and access points around the grasped point from the access point information server(S230), and then performs the access point searching for a searchable access point(S240).
