A language study apparatus having an electronic dictionary function is provided to reduce the time for word search during language study, and also to execute section repeat by storing an analog voice signal in digital format. A language study apparatus having an electronic dictionary function comprises a reproducing device(20), a microphone unit(40), a memory unit(70), a microprocessor unit(10), a power noise and voice noise removal unit(110,115), an LCD panel(60), a speaker(90), a keypad(30), and a recording/reproducing deck(190). The memory unit is composed of a dictionary data part(72) and a voice data part(71) which store dictionary data and audio data corresponding to the dictionary data. The analog audio signals inputted to the reproducing device and microphone unit are converted to digital signals through an A/D(Analog To Digital) converter(50). The microprocessor unit compares the digital signal with the audio data and dictionary data in the memory unit. The recording/reproducing deck records and reproduces the analog audio signals.
