A digital door lock and a control method thereof are provided to improve the consumption of battery by release the power saving mode of the tag by the wake up signal but also the preamble signal. The checking device confirms door incoming and outgoing intent of user. The reader(200) is connected to the checking device and transmits the power saving mode releasing signal according to door incoming and outgoing intent of user. The authorized user is supplied with the tag(300). The tag releases the power saving mode by the power saving mode clearing signal. The checking device is adhered to the front side of door. The heater sensor recognizes the user approaching the door. The pressure sensor is adhered to the handle of door. The pressure sensor senses the generated pressure according to the contacting state between the handle and the user.
