ELASTIC FILLER SUPPORTING ARTIFICIAL TURF AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

Elastic filler for supporting artificial turf and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve quality of the elasticity filler by recycling EPDM rubber waste which is environmentally safe. A method for manufacturing elastic filler for supporting artificial turf comprises following steps. EPDM waste rubber of sponge type is pulverized. The pulverized EPDM rubber recycling powder of the sponge type, thermoplastic resin, inorganic additive and EPDM material are injected in a twin screw extruder at the constant rate and are mixed. The twin screw extruder passes through dies and is cooled by spraying cooling water. The extruded product is cut underwater in a circular columnar shape. The EPDM rubber recycling powder of the sponge type is pulverized into the particle size of 1 ~ 600 micron. The EPDM rubber recycling powder is added at 47~97 weight%. The thermoplastic resin is added at 3~15 weight%. The inorganic additive is added at 5~30 weight%. The EPDM material is added at 1~10 weight%.
