A control method of a laundry treating device is provided to prevent the increase of the unnecessary rinse time and to reduce the residual detergent amount of laundry after the laundry completion. A control method of a laundry treating device comprises: a step of detecting the residual detergent amount from the washing water in a tub while performing a rinsing process(S145); and a step of detecting the additional rinsing process automatically based on the operation parameter including the residual detergent amount(S150). The step of sensing the residual detergent amount is as follows. After the laundry operation of the laundry is terminated, a first rinsing process is performed by making the washing water flow in the tub in order to rinse the clothes with fresh water. The residual detergent amount of the washing water within tub is sensed after finishing the first rinsing process or during the operation.
