A hard disk drive and an access method thereof are provided to keep data and recover default sector when an error occurs, by storing the same data copies in several locations on a disk. A hard disk drive(1) includes a disk(10), a head(20), and a controller(30). The head records the same data in several locations on the disk surface or reads out the same data recorded in several locations. The controller operates the head to read the recorded data in the fastest access time.
