An air-conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to improve the accuracy of sensing the body and to prevent the waste of unnecessary energy by preventing the sensing error of the human body. An air-conditioner comprises a photographing part(110), an exceptional zone process part(130), a person sensor(150) and a controller(140). The photographing part comprises a photographing unit. The photographing part takes a picture of the images. The exceptional zone process part detects display zone from image data photographed by the photographing part. The exceptional zone process part sets up the image zone, detected according to varying the detected image zone, as the exceptional zone. The person sensor senses the presence of the human body about the remaining zone except the exceptional zone. The controller variably controls operation options corresponding to whether the person in the room is sensed or not. |
