PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera whose display screen of a display is legible, and which has successful operability. SOLUTION: The video camera 1 outputs, after obtaining a video signal by performing photoelectric conversion of imaging light incoming from an optical system 2 by a camera part 4, the video signal to an image processing part 3, and records the video signal in a HDD 6. In addition, the video signal recorded in the HDD 6 is reproduced, and the video signal to be recorded, the reproduced video signal are displayed on a display 8. The display 8 is rotatably attached to a camera housing 2d by a hinge mechanism 2e. A control part 10 displays a plurality of icons stored in an EEPROM 14 according to a plurality of sensing areas of each of a vertical axis touch sensor 13a and a horizontal axis touch sensor 13b on the basis of the rotating direction of the display 8 detected by a direction sensor 8a.
