PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spool brake device of a double bearing reel, which can sufficiently ensure a brake force acting on a spool. SOLUTION: Since the first holding members 64 and the second holding member 65 are mounted on the first dent portion 61a and the second dent portion 61b whose outer peripheral portions are dented in the radial directions, respectively, in the spool brake mechanism 25, the outer peripheral surfaces 64c, 65c of the first holding members 64 and the second holding member 65 can be arranged on the insides only in the depths of the first dent portion 61a and the second dent portion 61b in comparison with a case that the first holding members 64 and the second holding member 65 are mounted on the outer peripheral surface 61c of a magnet 61. Thereby, a space between the outer peripheral side of the magnet 61 and the inner peripheral side of the coil 62 can be reduced as much as possible. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
