The system (1) has an electrical machine (2), coupled with a drive train for operating the electrical machine as a generator to produce direct current voltage. The electrical machine has a stator (4) and a rotor (8) that is strongly coupled with a driven shaft of the drive train. The rotor has a magnetisable element (9) i.e. circular layer, which is variably magnetizable by a magnetic device (11) that is not integrated in the rotor. A rectifier (13) i.e. diode rectifier, is coupled with a field winding of the stator for producing the direct current voltage.
