<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that minimizes the consumption of hardware resources while ensuring security and improving productivity. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus executes a job about image data, the execution of the job of the image data being limited by a password set to the image data. The image forming apparatus includes a password input unit for inputting the password required to cancel limitations on the execution of the job, a password accepting unit for accepting input password information, i.e., information about the password input, a job execution instruction accepting unit for accepting instructions to execute a job after the password accepting unit accepts the input password information, and a password collating unit for collating, upon receiving the instructions to execute a job, the input password with the password set to the image data.
