PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically set a bounce angle in bounce photographing. SOLUTION: When a bounce photographing mode is conducted, a photographing person turns a photographing lens toward a reflective surface to perform the first half-press of a release button and then turns the photographing lens toward an object to perform the first half-press of the release button. The photographing lens is in focus by means of an automatic focusing function in response to the half-press of the release button. A system controller measures the distance between the position of the focus lens and the reflective surface, in the case the focus lens is in focus at the first press of the release button. The system controller also measures the distance between the position of the focus lens and the object, in the case the focus lens is in focus at the second press of the release button.
