PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently supply a signal used when driving a display module, to the display module. SOLUTION: This drive unit for driving the display module is provided with a timing signal acquiring part for acquiring a drive timing signal for defining drive timing of the display module, an identification signal generating part for generating an identification signal for specifying a waveform of the drive timing signal, a signal synthesis part for adding the identification signal to a portion other than an effective signal portion in an image signal, and a signal regeneration part for acquiring the image signal with the identification signal added thereto, for reproducing the drive timing signal, based on the identification signal, and for supplying the reproduced drive timing signal and the image signal to the display module.
