PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device, with which the liquid crystal display device is mounted on the casing of a portable device with high precision and strength of the liquid crystal display device against external stress is improved, and to provide the liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device 9 with a liquid crystal panel 3 fixed between a light transmitting front substrate 1 and a backlight unit 4, the method includes: a step of disposing the liquid crystal panel 3 between the front substrate 1 and the backlight unit 4; a first aligning step of aligning the front substrate 1 and the backlight unit 4 with each other; and a step of sticking the front substrate 1, the backlight unit 4, and the liquid crystal panel 3 to one another with a first adhesive.
