<p>A white light source comprises white LED elements (9) each having a blue or purple LED and further having phosphors that are excited, by a blue or purple light emitted by the blue or purple LED, to emit respective lights; a temperature sensor (3) that detects an ambient temperature of the blue or purple LEDs; a constant-current power supply circuit (2A) that supplies a current into the blue or purple LEDs; and a control part (5) that controls the constant-current power supply circuit (2A) such that the peak value of the current to be supplied to the blue or purple LEDs is varied in accordance with a temperature detected by the temperature sensor (3), thereby suppressing a shifting of the peak wavelength of the blue or purple lights emitted by the blue or purple LEDs.</p> |
