WATERPROOF CONNECTOR FOR FLEXIBLE SUBSTRATE

A waterproof connector for flexible substrate comprising a flexible substrate having a conductor pattern formed on an insulating film; a connection terminal bonded to the conductor pattern at the terminal of the flexible substrate; a housing for containing the connection terminal; a retainer consisting of a pair of upper and lower members and clamping the joint of the conductor pattern and the connection terminal at the front end and surrounding the flexible substrate at the rear end; and a hot melt arranged at the unbounded portion of the inner circumference of the retainer to the flexible substrate and on the outer circumference of the retainer and bonding/fixing the flexible substrate and the retainer. The waterproof connector is further provided with a latching means arranged on the outer circumference of the retainer, and a means to be latched arranged in the housing wherein the latching means and the means to be latched are latched mutually to fix the retainer and the housing.
