PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device capable of multi-color display, preventing deterioration of color conversion ability of a color conversion layer formed by a dry process on the premise when forming a buffer layer or the like, solving problems of transmission of the buffer layer, color purity of pixels, and an adhesion property between the buffer layer and a gas barrier layer, and achieving a high-definition property and high visibility. SOLUTION: The organic EL device is provided with a transparent substrate, a one-kind or a plurality of kinds of color filter layers, a first gas barrier layer, a color conversion layer, a buffer layer, a second gas barrier layer, a transparent electrode, an organic EL layer, and a reflective electrode. The color conversion layer, a first gas barrier layer and the second gas barrier layer are formed by a dry process, the first gas barrier layer is made of SiO<SB>2</SB>, SiN or Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and the buffer layer contains transparent oxide.
