The invention relates to the field of ceramics, more particularly a light-weight green compact and a molded article which is used for manufacturing vehicles, for example, as well as a method for the production thereof. The aim of the invention is to design a light-weight green compact and a molded article which has high mechanical strength and an adjustable pore structure. Said aim is achieved by a light-weight green compact comprising an at least highly porous structure of webs which are three-dimensionally interconnected, are entirely made of ceramic particles and/or metal particles, and have the solidified structures of a sublimated suspending agent. In the method according to the invention, a suspension is produced from a ceramic and/or powder-metallurgical material and a suspending agent, the suspension is then exposed to a vacuum at least until the suspending agent has solidified/hardened/frozen, whereupon the suspending agent is sublimated and removed, the solidified structure of the suspension being obtained during the sublimation process. |
