A hybrid composite fabric garment (10) includes a first fabric portion (20) and a second fabric portion (40). The first fabric portion includes a first inner fabric layer (22), a first outer fabric layer (24), and a first barrier layer (26) disposed therebetween. The first barrier includes a first nonwoven membrane (60, 80, 120, 130) and has a first predetermined air permeability. The second fabric portion includes a second inner fabric layer (42), a second outer fabric layer (44), and a second barrier layer (46) disposed therebetween. The second barrier layer includes a second nonwoven membrane (60, 80, 120, 130) and has a second predetermined air permeability substantially greater than the first predetermined air permeability.
