DEVELOPING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily suppress temperature rise of toner in a developing device without hindering miniaturization and compaction of the developing device and an image forming apparatus in which the developing device is mounted while suppressing toner consumption.

SOLUTION: A toner replenishing container 47 communicating with the inside of the developing device 4 through a toner replenishing port P3 and a toner overflowing port P4 is attached to the developing device 4. By excessively replenishing the developing device 4 with the toner from the toner replenishing container 47 to exceed an allowable toner storing amount of the developing device 4, the toner whose temperature rises in the developing device 4 overflows to the toner replenishing container 47 from the toner overflowing port P4. The overflowed toner is supplied into the developing device 4 again.
