<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively improve production efficiency of a substrate by performing a component recognizing operation by a scan type imaging means fitted to a head unit in suitable timing set based upon relation to a component recognizing operation by a fixed type imaging means different therefrom. <P>SOLUTION: The surface mounting equipment 1 according to the invention is equipped with a scan camera unit 8 which can move relatively to the head unit 6 and a fixed camera 24 which is a fixed type different therefrom as a means of imaging a component C sucked by a plurality of suction heads 20 that the head unit 6 has.
