<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus 1 carrying out a smooth bending motion. <P>SOLUTION: The endoscope apparatus includes an elongated insertion section 23 inserted into the body of a subject, a bending section 22 arranged on a distal end 21 of the insertion section 23 and bending in four directions, a plurality of pressure chambers 11 for bending the bending section 22, electromagnetic valves for supplying and discharging actuation fluid into the respective pressure chambers 11, and a control section 57 for pulse actuating the electromagnetic valves.
