PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid irregular hitting from being performed in a pinball game machine loaded with a plurality of start ports and special symbols. SOLUTION: A big winning is performed when a winning is generated by one of a first symbol corresponding to a fixed type first start port and a second symbol corresponding to an opening/closing type second start port, and after the big winning is ended, it is switched to a first game state wherein the opening time of the second start port is not extended or a second game state wherein it is extended. Winning/losing determination in which the second symbol is more advantageous to a player than the first symbol is performed. However, even when the winning is generated by the second symbol in the first game state, it is surely returned to the first game state after the end of the big winning and it is not switched to the second game state. As a result, since the player does not want to make a game ball enter the second start port in the first game state anymore, the action of irregular hitting or the like performed aiming at the entry of the game ball to the second start port in the first game state can be avoided.
