PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer type measuring instrument capable of illuminating a liquid crystal display panel and a pointer with the same light source. SOLUTION: This pointer type measuring instrument M comprises: a display 2 including the liquid crystal display panel 1, the light source 7 for illuminating the liquid crystal display panel 1, a light guide member 8 for guiding light emitted from the light source 7 to the liquid crystal display panel 1, and a frame 10 for storing at least the liquid crystal display panel 1 and the light guide member 8 and including the first window part 9 from which the liquid crystal display panel 1 is exposed; a dial plate 4 including an index part 3 positioned near the liquid crystal display panel 1; and a driving device 6 on which the pointer 5 disposed on the back of the liquid crystal display panel 1 and indicating the index part 3 is mounted. The display 2 is provided with the second window part 1 for emitting light from the light source 7 guided by the light guide member 8 to the pointer 5, and a condensing emission part 12 for condensing the light from the light source 7 to the second window 11 and emitting it to the pointer 7 side.
