A skin color evaluation method which evaluates a skin color from an inputted image including a face area. The method has the following steps: a division step which divides the image into predetermined areas using first feature points composed of at least 25 areas set previously on the whole face area of the image and second feature points set using the first feature points; a skin color distribution evaluation step which generates skin color distribution corresponding to the average value by using at least one of the respective values of L*, a*, b*, Cab*, hab in an L*a*b* color system and tristimulus values X, Y, Z, RGB in an XYZ color system, a hue H, brightness V, color saturation C, an amount of melanin, and an amount of hemoglobin by each area divided by the division step, and evaluates the skin color on the basis of measurement results; and a screen generation step of displaying the measurement results or evaluation results on a screen. |
