This process filters phosphate-containing fluid from a phosphatising process. A pressure difference is developed across the filtration material when the fluid is forced through. During formation of this pressure difference, an electric field is applied to the phosphatising fluid, within the filtration device (4). Also claimed is a fluid filter for phosphatising processes, which includes electrodes (7, 8) for the imposition of the electric field to the fluid within the pressurised filter (4).
