<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel reforming apparatus that can quickly respond when starting the apparatus and rapidly increase the temperature of a catalyst layer to a predetermined temperature appropriate to a catalytic reaction. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel reforming apparatus includes a reforming catalyst, a carbon monoxide modifying catalyst, and a carbon monoxide removing catalyst, and heats these catalysts mainly by a combustion exhaust gas, in which an oxidation heat generating agent 35 that can return to the original state by reduction is disposed at a position adjacent to at least one of the reforming catalyst, the carbon monoxide modifying catalyst and the carbon monoxide removing catalyst, so as to auxiliary heat the at least one of the catalysts with the oxidation heat generating agent 35. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
