<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which prevents current concentration from occurring at the time of charge and discharge of a battery and which prevents damage of a separator. <P>SOLUTION: The positive electrode 10 for the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes an active material layer 12 containing active material particles 12a containing Si or Sn. A layer 14 containing inorganic oxide particles is formed on an outermost surface. The inorganic oxide is a material which cannot prevent the active material from storing and releasing lithium ions, and appropriate to be composed of an electrically insulated material. Roughness of the uppermost surface is preferably 0.1 to 3 μm expressed by the arithmetic mean roughness Ra specified by JIS B0601. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
