<p>One embodiment includes a method for alternating media type. The method is useful for alternating the media type while setting up a call for interconnecting a circuit switching (CS) network and a internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) network. The method comprises: sending a call setup request to a called party, the call setup request carrying the media type requested by the calling party; receiving a feedback message from a called party, the feedback message carrying the media type which is accepted by the called party; generating a notification message according to the content of the feedback message and sending the notification message to the calling party. Another embodiment allows the notification of the media type accepted by the called party to the calling party in order to setup a call connection, thereby alternating the media type while setting up a call for interconnecting the CS and IMS networks, and addressing issues of the prior art, including not the media type alternation while setting up a call.</p> |
