<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ink for recording improved in foaming without deteriorating image quality and excellent in storage stability and discharge stability. <P>SOLUTION: The ink for recording comprises at least a pigment, a water-soluble organic solvent, a resin emulsion, a surfactant represented by general formula (1), wherein m+n=9 to 11 and 1.4≤x/y≤1.6, a compound represented by a general formula (2), and water.
