PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that improves productivity while ensuring security.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an image data input unit for accepting the image data of a document, a set password acquisition unit for acquiring information about a password from the image data that the image data input unit receives, an input password accepting unit for starting the acceptance of input of a password before the image data input unit completes accepting the image data for all pages of the document, a password collating unit for collating the input password with a set password, and a job execution unit for executing a job while canceling limitations on the execution of the job according to the result of the collation. If a password is set for a certain page of the document, the image data input unit completes accepting the image data for the next page to the certain page of the document as necessary before the input password accepting unit completes the input of a password corresponding to the password set to the certain page.
