<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reference and administration of information of non-contact type memory of a magnetic tape cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: A cartridge storage shelf 1 is equipped with an RF interface 6 which can read the non-contact type memory 2 built in the cartridge 1, and reads the information of the non-contact type memory. The read information is displayed on a liquid crystal panel 12 furnished in the library device. The cartridge storage shelf is equipped with a non-contact type memory reader, as a result of which even if the conveyance and loading/unloading operation to a magnetic recording and reproducing device are not carried out, the inherent information and operation state history information of the cartridge recorded in the non-contact type memory in the cartridge can be referred to and the presence and absence of the cartridge, identification control, and quality control can be performed by utilizing the information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
