PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To gather a blood vessel to be an imaging purpose as a bloodstream image under better conditions and in a shorter time even for an imaging part where the flow of the bloodstream is slow such as a lower limb. SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus comprises: a data gathering means for gathering first data (ECHO1) and second data (ECHO2) respectively using a first sequence which is accompanied by the impressing of spoiler pulses for accelerating a flow void effect in the imaging part inside a subject and a second sequence which is accompanied by the impressing of flow compensation pulses for obtaining the effect of flow compensation in the imaging part, causes a free precessional movement in the magnetization of a spin in the imaging part and obtains a steady state; and a bloodstream image data generation means for generating the bloodstream image data of the subject on the basis of the first data (ECHO1) and the second data (ECHO2).
