TECHNIQUE OF CONSTRUCTING AUXILIARY BIO-HEART USING FROZEN BLOOD VESSEL

A bio-heart originating from a biological material, in particular, a blood vessel which provides one-way blood flow, has a thicker myocardial layer, and has an enlarged capacity and an elevated output power. Provided is a substitute heart which comprises a valved blood vessel having been treated to lower the antigenicity and a myocardial cell layer formed therearound. Also provided is a method of constructing a blood vessel-origin bio-heart characterized by comprising connecting the substitute heart constructed above to an intraperitoneal blood vessel in a living body to allow blood flow, wrapping the omental around the outside of the myocardial layer and thus holding the substitute heart that is autonomously beating in the living body.
