PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analyzer for noncontactly stirring a liquid retained in a reaction vessel by acoustic waves, and reducing a time required for an analysis, and to provide an analysis method. SOLUTION: The analyzer 1 is provided with a stirring mechanism for stirring the liquid sample retained in the vessel by the acoustic waves and reacting it, measures an optical characteristic of the reaction liquid, and analyzes the liquid sample. The analysis method uses the analyzer. The analyzer 1 is provided with an output section 24 for monitoring a stirred state of the liquid sample from a measurement value of the optical characteristic, and an apparatus control section 22 for controlling a stirring operation by the stirring mechanism and a measuring operation of the optical characteristic.
