PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of easily searching an image suitable for determining slicing position, a method for processing images, and a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The image suitable for setting the slicing position is searched out while changing images shown in an image display viewer 2 by operating the scroll bar 2a of the image display viewer 2 when the operator of the MRI apparatus determines that the image shown in the positioning viewer 1 is not suitable for setting the slicing position. The image display viewer 2 displays not character information but images themselves, consequently the operator can easily search out the image suitable for setting the slicing position.
