PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of an excellent patterned molded body capable of easily forming a fine pattern with three-dimensional appearance at a low cost and a patterned molded body obtained by the method. SOLUTION: At the time of providing a fine pattern P consisting of a first stripe-like pattern and a second stripe-like pattern in combination on the rear face of a transparent layer 8 of a cover plate 7 composing a cover body 4 of a compact container by using a non-contact type inkjet printer, printing with a transparent ink and printing with a coloring ink are carried out while overlapping one on the other to further form a coloring layer 9 on the face where the fine pattern P is formed.
