PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To parallelly move the tip of an endoscope by simple operations. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope includes an inserted portion and an operating portion. The inserted portion has two bending portions. The operating portion has an upward and downward operating knob 24. The upward and downward operating knob 24 moves between a normal position where the knob separates pulleys 36 and 37 and a pushing position where the knob brings the pulleys 36 and 37 into contact. When the upward and downward operating knob 24 in the normal position is operated, a first pulley 36 rotates, and only the first bending portion is upward and downward bent by a first wire 46. When the upward and downward operating knob 24 in the pushing position is operated, the pulleys 36 and 37 interlockingly rotate, and the bending portions are simultaneously bent upward and downward by the wires 46 and 47. A second wire 47 is connected to the second bending portion after intersecting once en route.
