The invention relates to a chopping appliance for chopping food ingredients, in particular homogeneous vegetables, such as garlic, with a cutting device for cutting the food ingredients in at least two cutting planes arranged at an angle to each other, wherein a first set of cutters (4) is provided, the set of cutters having a multiplicity of cutting edges which are spaced apart from one another and are arranged in such a manner that the set of cutters is effective in terms of cutting in at least one of the cutting planes and in a first cutting direction, and with a transport device for passing the food ingredients through the at least one set of cutters in order for said food ingredients to be chopped. According to the invention, it is proposed that at least one second set of cutters (5) with a multiplicity of cutting edges (22) is provided in order to chop the food ingredients in a second cutting plane (E2), and that the transport device (9) has at least two pushing elements (8) which are preferably actuable independently of each other and are provided for forcing the food ingredients through the sets of cutters (4, 5), wherein the first and the second set of cutters (4, 5) are in each case assigned a pushing element (8) which is effective in terms of pushing in the cutting direction (sl, s2) of the particular set of cutters (4, 5). |
