Microemulsions of average particle diameter 5-250 nm contain by weight - (A) an alkyl- and/or alkenyl-oligoglycoside carboxylic acid salt (5- 50%); - (B) an oil component (5-50%, such that (a) + (b) amounts to 10-55% of the total composition); and - (C) 1-4C mono- or poly-functional alcohols (0-15%). - Microemulsions of average particle diameter 5- 250 nm contain by weight - (A) an alkyl- and/or alkenyl-oligoglycoside carboxylic acid salt of formula (I) (5-50 %); - (B) an oil component (5-50 %, such that (a) + (b) amounts to 10-55 % of the total composition); and - (C) 1-4C mono- or poly-functional alcohols (0-15 %). - R1O(G)pO((CH2)mCOO-X+)n (I); - R1 = 4-22C alkyl or alkenyl; - G = 5 or 6C sugar residue; - p = 1-10; - m and n = 1-5; and - X = alkali(ne earth), ammonium, alkanolammonium, alkylammonium or glucammonium.
