<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving control device of a vehicle opening/closing body capable of determining occurrence of a failure of a capacitance type sensor used for insertion detection when starting closing operation of the opening/closing body. <P>SOLUTION: This driving control device of the vehicle opening/closing body has: the opening/closing body 3 for opening/closing an opening part 2 of a vehicle body 1; a driving means 7 therefor; the capacitance type sensor 100 provided on the end on the opening part side of the opening/closing body, for generating a proximity output signal corresponding to proximity of an object; and a control means for driving and controlling the driving means, and reversely controlling the driving means, when a value of the proximity output signal is over the first threshold determined in correspondence with opening of the opening/closing body. If the value of the proximity output signal when starting closing operation of the opening/closing body is lower than the second threshold set to have a lower value than a reference potential set as a reference value when the proximity output signal does not detect the object, the control means estimates that the sensor fails, and stops the closing operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
