<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat storage material containing an aqueous trimethylolethane solution as a major ingredient, which avoids the occurrence of residue on melting of trimethylolethane hydrate and/or trimethylolethane even when heat storage and heat release are repeated, so that a reduction in the storage of heat is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The heat storage material comprises trimethylolethane, water, a cationic surfactant and a counter ion forming agent, wherein the cationic surfactant is a quaternary ammonium salt represented by general formula (1), wherein R<SP>1</SP>represents an alkyl group; R<SP>2</SP>-R<SP>4</SP>are the same or different and are each a methyl group or a hydroxyethyl group; and X represents halogen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
